Please Tell us what’s happening in your own words.

Learning to describe problems is hard, but it is an important part of learning how to code.

Also, the more you say, the more we can help!

We unfortunately cannot see your code.

i just edited it , you can see it now .

That does not give us all of the code that you wrote. You need to put all of your code into a post.

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

The background needs to come after the background-color.

i did that but still same problem !

It is a different problem if you put the background property after the background-color property.

i have the same error message for both !

What does your code look like when you move the background property?

Edit - ah, I had also fixed your bad variable syntax to get a different error message.

Your bad variable syntax is breaking the entire property.

This isn’t how you use a CSS variable.

the error becomes “You should give the repeating-linear-gradient a first color of --building-color2 from 0% to 5% .” i tried it .

New error messages mean progress.

So now you need to look back at how you previously used repeating-linear-gradient because that’s not what you are doing here.

repeating-linear-gradient(
    var(--building-color2)0%,
    var(--building-color2) 5%,
    transparent 5% ,
    transparent 10%

success ,thank you
