I have designated an empty cell with (.) yet failed the challenge, what could be wrong? Please help!

Here is the challenge link: https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/responsive-web-design/css-grid/divide-the-grid-into-an-area-template

Here is my code:

grid-template-areas:
    /* Only change code below this line */
      "header header header"
      ". content content"
      "footer footer footer";
    /* Only change code above this line */

This one is really weird. You’re spot on with the solution @MykPlus, it seems what is breaking it is the

/* Only change code below this line */

Remove that comment from the code and submit, that should work!

I’ve edited your post for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard. The “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) will also add backticks around text.

Note: Backticks are not single quotes.

@ilenia Noted. Thanks

weird thing

can you report it as a bug?

Thank you for helping make FCC better. Bugs can be reported as GitHub Issues. Whenever reporting a bug, please check first that there isn’t already an issue for it and provide as much detail as possible.

@caleb-mabry I did and it worked! It’s fixed another too.

I believe that I have gotten it taken care of. Looks like there was a commit 4 days ago.
