Google’s codebase itself is something like 2 billion lines of code. I have no idea how large their self driving car codebase must be. Has anyone here worked on one of these things?

Yeah, just to imagine the AI code and obstacle detection in real time that it must require makes me feel small as a quark.

I once did a school assignment on object detection in real time and the people in charge used lots of R and C++ code for statistical computation.
