Interview question

From what’s been described, not sure that’s quite right – it seems as if they were describing something that the company specifically does and probing for answers so that they can judge whether, if they were to employ @kravmaguy, what level of directly applicable knowledge does he have that might not be obvious from reading CV & asking general technical questions. I think it’s fair enough, and also that there isn’t really a single right answer. If the context is “this is a core problem the company works on” than it’s a useful thing to ask, because it should hopefully lead to discussion regardless of whether the interviewee knows an answer, as it requires thought and an ability to ask questions in an attempt to understand the problem.
