Hello and welcome to our forum!
we need to see your code for us to help.

Welcome to FCC Forum.
Please Tell us what’s happening in your own words.
Learning to describe problems is hard, but it is an important part of learning how to code.
Also, the more you say, the more we can help!
Happy coding! :slight_smile:

sorry bout that, i’m new here. here’s the code.

    <div class="question-block">
  <label for="frontend-developer">Are you a frontend developer?</label>
</div>
<div class="name">
  <select id="frontend-developer" name="frontend-developer" required>
    <option value="">Select an option</option>
    <option value="yes">Yes</option>
    <option value="no">No</option>
  </select>
</div>

I cannot help you without seeing your code,you need to post your code here first.

Welcome to our community!

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

the hints always shows " You should give the select element an id attribute." but I’ve already done that and still my code did not pass the step.

You seem to have changed the value of the class name. Restore it to its initial state, which is answer.

Where did you find the instruction to change the class name to “name”?
