Learn Accessibility by Building a Quiz - Step 46

Hi there,

So with your hints and tips, it makes it pretty clear, BUT what I don’t understand at all is how you work out the ratios. Like, with " Hint: I would use #dfdfe2" - how do you get that colour?

Someone earlier was saying its how far round on the colour wheel, but I did that, and it puts Red with Cyan on the one that I was using earlier for the primary colours, and that doesnt seem to make much sense to me…

Have you got anything that might clarify this a bit? I cant seem to make much sense of it in my head, and although it looks great with your tips, I don’t think I could replicate it with my own work?

the background is black. I just chose ‘white’. (that worked for me)
I think you should use contrasting colors (yes colors that are far apart on the color wheel) to make that decision.
As for what shade of red works with cyan, well, if you don’t have a sense for that yourself then you can just look up online color palettes or use your favorite website to sample their color palette for your work.
(many designers post color palettes, from people who create actual paint for walls to people who do fashion etc)

Ah, amazing! I just thought that because you said 7:1, then there was a magic formula that I should be using to get from one colour to a next…

Brilliant, that clears it all up, thank you! :ok_hand:

Cheers, Chris
