# Learn Accessibility by Building a Quiz - Step 46

Tell us what’s happening:
I don’t understand what I should write in the color field in this step. We didn’t mention “contrast ratio” before and I don’t understand how to capture this measurement. How can I understand the color needed to get a contrast ratio of “4.5:1” and “7:1”?
Moreover, not understanding what I should write in the color part, I wrote white in the answer, thinking that it could contrast with the background color of the header (#1b1b32). the result was accepted. However, when I went to the next step, I saw “inherit” written where I wrote white. this confused me even more. how can inherit be attributed to white or to a color with a contrast ratio of 7:1?

Challenge: Learn Accessibility by Building a Quiz - Step 46

The `inherit` value tells the element to get its real value from its parent. In this case, the parent element of the anchor element is the `li` element, and you have already set the color of the `li` element to `#dfdfe2`, so the `a` element would inherit that color. Since that color is light enough to have at least a `7:1` contrast with the background color then it passes the step.
The color you choose to use in step 46 does not get carried over to step 47. Each step sort of starts out fresh. So they had to choose something to put in there for step 47 and I guess they felt that `inherit` would be the best value to use. I don’t know if the `inherit` keyword has been introduced yet, but if not, then I would agree that it might be a little confusing to use it here.
