Remove the ) after el.

Hello there!
The problem is the placement of your return statement. Having it inside the if statement will result in it being used in the if statement, it will only execute if the condition of the if statement is met thus resulting in a pre-mature return.

Place it outside the if statement, that way, the entire if statement logic will be evaluated and the correct value returned.
