Learn Basic Algorithmic Thinking by Building a Number Sorter - Step 29

Tell us what’s happening:

i’m having a difficult time figuring this out. Not sure where to put the if statement, i’ve tried putting it in different places after the console.log() with no luck

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->

/* file: styles.css */

/* file: script.js */
// User Editable Region

const selectionSort = (array) => {
  for (let i = 0; i < array.length; i++) {
    let minIndex = i;

    for (let j = i + 1; j < array.length; j++) {
console.log(array, array[j], array[minIndex])

    } if (array[j] < array[minIndex] = j){}
  }
}

// User Editable Region

the if also needs to go inside your nested for loop

I tried putting the if statement in this for loop beneath the console.log() but didn’t it work,

for (let j = i + 1; j < array.length; j++){
console.log(array, array[j], array[minIndex])
if (array[j] < array[minIndex] = j){}
}

that code is incomplete as you are asked to write something inside the if statement

ok thanks alot, i got it
