Welcome to the community @Jasminm90 !

The html requires a closing tag. It should appear is this way <opening tag> </closing tag>
You have the opening <html> tag. Just add the closing one.

Happy coding!

I did that too afterwards and it still did not work, it said it did not recognize the lang en smh

Hmmm… that’s weird. Did you put the closing tag just after the opening one without any spaces?

I suggest resetting the step and doing it again.

This will clear any lingering failed code.

I am not sure why it will not work with the < /html> tag added at the end. It works on my end.

Maybe try the following

  • Reset step
  • Refresh page (F5)
  • Some browser extensions, such as ad-blockers and dark mode extensions can interfere with the tests.
  • If you are having problems, recommendation is to disable extensions that modify the content or layout of pages, while taking the course.
    • Try a different browser.
      .

Its better to show your code instead if telling us what you tried

When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').
