In the style area it looks like this:

should there be a fullstop after the openin tag for the style element

The code the user provided was not all correct. There should not be . In front of the h1 in the style

You need to follow this structure the challenge gives you as an example

Your h1 should not be inside <> </> brackets. That is html syntax not css. It should just be the element
