<!-- User Editable Region -->

    <style>
      <h1> selector

Challenge: Learn Basic CSS by Building a Cafe Menu - Step 11

Link to the challenge:

  <style>
                                     <h1>
                                     </h1>
    </style>

I tried to center h1, i guess thats how its done.

 <style>
                                     <h1> center="text-align"
                                     </h1>
    </style>

You don’t need to add < or > when styling html, simply write h1 just like that and it will work.
Hope it helps

 style
                                     h1 text-align="center"
                                     h1
    style

Now its all black.

thanks i wait for anyone else.

cause now youve got me completely lost. Just stop. I am asking nicely again.

Oh, I forgot to say write h1 then use this sign { , then when you’re done styling the h1 close it using this : } and don’t use =
Example: p { text-align : center; }

  <style>
                             <h1 <style> text-align="center"</style></h1>
    </style>

here is another try

 <style>
                             {h1 <style> text-align="center"</style></h1}
    </style>

and another try. I am resetting for the 20th time again.

Here is the example the challenge gives you

element {
 property: value;
}

Lets start by asking for this challenge do you know what your element, property, and value are?

1 Like
<style>
      <h1> text-align="center" h1="style"
      element {
        property: value;
      }
      </h1>
    </style>

currently in this. I will be resetting if you say

 style
      h1 text-align="center" h1="style"
      element {
        property: value;
      }
      h1
    style

was also told to do it this way. and obviously its not right at all

It needs to be exactly like the example. Nothing more, nothing less.

element {
 property: value;
}

So it looks like you know h1 is the element. So simply place the h1 in the element slot

h1{
  property: value;
}

Now you can take this and replace the words property and value with the property and value the challenge gives you

<style>
      <h1>
        h1 {
        property: value;
      }
    </style>

am i just blind? its making sense like a rock

<style>
      <h1>
        h1 {
        property: value;
      }
    </style>

You dont need to use <> in css thats only for html. So in html you would write the h1 inside the braces like <h1> however in css you remove the braces and only use the h1 by itself

  h1 {
        property: value;
      }

Here, you need to look at the instructions. What do they say is the property? what do they say you need to use for the value? Replace the words property and value with what the instructions say

  <style>
        h1 {
        property: value;
      }
    </style>

Nope

I am smashing my head, what am i not grasping?

<style>
        h1 {
        property: center;
           }
    </style>

I have moved stuff and nothing

Like I said in the previous reply

Look at the instructions. They tell you what the property and value are supposed to be. You should not be actually using the words property and value.

Here is what the instructions say

" setting its text-align property to the value center ."

What is the property, and what is the value?
