Challenge: Learn Basic CSS by Building a Cafe Menu - Step 19

Hey!

Selectors are used to “select” any elements from your html so you can style them.
for example:
if i want to change the background color of all of the button elements in my code, the code for that would be:

button {
    background-color: red;
}

the text “button” is the selector in the above example .

if you want to learn more about selectors, here’s a resource.

but you also have a problem here, all of the CSS is supposed to be inside of the style tag and this portion of your code is above it.

Hope this helps! :smile:
