Tell us what’s happening:

In your style sheet, comment out the line containing the background-color property and value, so you can see the effect of only styling the #menu element. This will make the background white again.

What does that mean??

it can’t turn white because there is still this line that sets the color to burlywood, which you were asked to comment out, so please remove the line that is not commented out
