The ‘footer’ is an html element here, not a class. Follow the rules about different selectors:

  • ‘element’ is a selector if you target an html element,
  • .class is a selector if you target a class attribute that defines one or more html elements
  • #id is a selector if you target an id which uniquely defines an html element

In other words, you don’t have the dot before the name of the html element in question.
