Learn Basic JavaScript by Building a Role Playing Game - Step 123

Tell us what’s happening:

I am not sure what else I’m missing. When I submit, it says… You should add to the weapons[currentWeapon].power value.

Your code so far

function attack() {
text.innerText = “The " + monsters[fighting].name + " attacks.”;
text.innerText += " You attack it with your " + weapons[currentWeapon].name + “.”;
health -= monsters[fighting].level;
monsterHealth -= weapons[currentWeapon].power;
weapons[currentWeapon].power += Math.floor(Math.random() * xp) + 1;
}

Please copy/paste all the editor code showing in the challenge from where you just linked.

Replace these two sentences with your copied code.

"Following this pattern, use the addition operator (+) to add a random number between 1 and the value of xpto your monsterHealth variable change ← "

This means you want to change the existing line of code that is changing the monster’s health.

So, I don’t need the … weapons[currentWeapon].power += Math.floor(Math.random() * xp) + 1; ?

You don’t need to add a new line of code to the function. You need to modify the existing line that is setting the monsterHealth variable.

“…use the addition operator (+) to add a random number between 1 and the value of xp to your monsterHealth variable change.”
