Tell us what’s happening:

The hint I’m getting isn’t helping me. Says your if statement should call the lose function.

Syntax error

I’ve gathered that much but since the lose function hasn’t been created yet not sure what I’m really suppose to be calling.

Well what’s different with this if statement’s syntax? Look carefully, and don’t worry about.exact body or condition.

I’m setting the gold function to equal something. Even if I do lose -= 0; it comes back with the same hint to call the lose function

Hold up. Carefully look at the if statement here. Compare it to the one you wrote for this step. There is one small but critical difference is the syntax.
