Tell us what’s happening:

Inside the dodge function, set text.innerText equal to the string You dodge the attack from the [monster] . Replace [monster] with the name of the monster, using the name property.

Submitted below code but didn’t work. I don’t know what I’m missing. I feel like its something small that I should know.

Your code so far

function dodge() {
text.innerText = “You dodge the attack from the” + monsters[fighting.name;
}

Do you see that you are missing something here?

Do you see that you are missing a space here?

There is a space after the word “the” and the brackets are opening and closing as you can see. I don’t know why it didn’t copy and paste at first.

text.innerText = “You dodge the attack from the” + monsters[fighting].name;

You have the closing square bracket added, so that issue is solved. But there is still not a space after the word the.

the" +

Remember, any spaces that you want to show up on the page need to be inside of the string. The space between the closing quotation mark and the plus sign doesn’t count.

Kept trying with the spacing, but got it now. Thank you
