Cant seem to get passed this level…What am I missing?

I would suggest trying to keep your span elements to 1 line when they have text.

<span class="stat">
              XP: 0
            </span>

If the intention was to have XP:0 without spaces the way you have your <span></span> split may interfere with that text, which would explain why you are getting that text error.
