I have done as the task said by using backslashes and i enclosed “store” in quotes. I also tried doing so with a whole sentence and just the You see a sign that says store sentence. However, it did not work. I am unsure of what to do next.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Are you sure it’s just the word Store enclosed in quotes?

this was after i had tried that as well! Sorry about that. The original code i had was:
text.innerText = “You are in the town square. You see a sign that says "Store."”;
However, I found out my issue was that i had enclosed the dot inside as well. :blush:

And did you use backslashes when trying to wrap Store in double quotes?

Yes i did! I enclosed Store in backslashes and wraped them in double quotes this worked. I just had to take the dot out of all of that.

Great job! Good luck on the next steps :grinning:
