Learn Basic OOP by Building a Shopping Cart - Step 43

Tell us what’s happening:

  1. You should create a calculateTotal method in the ShoppingCart class.
  2. Your calculateTotal method should use the reduce method on the items array.
  3. Your reduce call should have an initial value of 0.

I keep getting these messages

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->

/* file: styles.css */

/* file: script.js */
// User Editable Region

class ShoppingCart {
  calculateTotal(){
    this.items = items
   const subTotal = items.reduce((total, item)=> total + item.price, 0);
 }

}

Hi @julieperk

You are already inside the shoppingCart class, so you just need to add the calculateTotal method.

Have a look at how you structured the code in the addItem method.

Happy coding

I’m stuck right here

calculateTotal() {
const subTotal = items.reduce((total+ item), 0) => {
this.price.forEach(total, item)
this.items =
}
}
