Hello there.

Please Tell us what’s happening in your own words.

Learning to describe problems is hard, but it is an important part of learning how to code.

Also, the more information you give us, the more likely we are to be able to help.

I am applying properties to .bb1a but still error remains

Remove the image and write only background and then check it

same error it is giving

you have use var(–builing-color1) and similarly for --window-color1 to acess them

hello, you have a few problems to fix to pass this exercise.
Recall the instructions provided said:

In .bb1a, add a gradient of type linear-gradient to the background property with --building-color1 as the first color and --window-color1 as the second.

You have successfully added a property to .bb1a but it is not the correct type.
The next correction should be to how you reference the variables.
Recall that to reference a variable called --myvariable you need to use the var keyword like this:
var(--myvariable)
