I’m having a problem with the background in city skyline step 40. I think I am doing everything right and it is not working.

To reference these variables you need to use a var function (one var function per variable)

I have the same problem. Your method is not working. could you please type for me?

multiple variables to make a transition look like:

var(--variable-name, --variable-name2) ;

or a single variable looks like this:

var(--variable-name) ;

On this project I believe it’s assigned to background-color:

hi Jernei, welcome to the forum.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help someone on the forum today. The fact that you did it almost as soon as you joined speaks to a very helpful personality (as most people who join the forum only want help for themselves initially).

I do have to remove the code you posted though only because we want to encourage everyone to learn how to overcome coding issues themselves (with support of course like hints and tips but not complete solutions).
