Instead of semicolon, you should use a comma to indicate that you have multiple gradients

This is my new attempt…still not working:

90deg,
var(–building-color4),
var(–building-color4) 10%,
transparent 10%,
transparent 15%

background: repeating-linear-gradient(
var(–building-color4),
var(–building-color4) 10%,
var(–window-color4) 10%,

You don’t need two background property lines. Just one with two gradients.

background: repeating-linear-gradient(…), 
        repeating-linear-gradient(…);
