Challenge Information:

Learn Form Validation by Building a Calorie Counter - Step 9

You have code placement problems. The select element should be empty, therefore, it should not be nesting any block of code as its doing here.

The button element should come after the select, immediately after the select element. When you reposition the above lines, your code will pass.

Don’t forget to talk about how you are stuck.

i am stuck because it says this Your select element should be empty and have a closing </select> tag.

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

does that mean you should not have option elements inside, maybe?
