Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

Tell us what’s happening:
Describe your issue in detail here.
The way I am understanding the instructions for Step 12 is to move the anchor into the paragraph. Simple enough… except; It gives me alternating/conflicting hints and will not accept it either way.
#1 hint:
After nesting the anchor (a) element, the only p element content visible in the browser should be Click here to view more cat photos. Double check the text, spacing, or punctuation of both the p and nested anchor element.
#2 hint:
The link’s text should be cat photos . You have either omitted the text or have a typo.

  **Your code so far**
    <h2>Cat Photos</h2>
<!-- TODO: Add link to cat photos -->
<p><a href="https://freecatphotoapp.com">Click here to view more cat photos.</a></p>
<img src="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

User Agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/ Safari/537.36

Thank you, Jeremy. That’s what I figured, but that wasn’t working either. I will try again tonight and double check my work.

Hello there,

Please read here

Thanks again for responding so quickly guys. Very helpful.

Without giving the literal answer, I’ll post my basic path to solution below. Perhaps it will help other beginners stuck on Step 12. I first thought this step could have been worded better, but once it clicks, it all makes sense.

For reference, go to the FCC YouTube videos. You will find the steps to solution there- also look at the forum link AKG gave me above. Someone there basically gives the verbatim code line/ solve.

Two things:

  1. Pay close attention to the hints and think of how they are related. You are creating a link within a sentence of text. Where does the smaller piece of text mirror in the larger? And, how do those need to be constructed in the nested code line for only two of the words to be a link?
  2. Pay closer attention to caps/spelling/spaces/punctuation. I see many posting their current code with many simple errors that will hang you up, even with the correct syntax.

Good Luck!
