Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

Link to the challenge:

you need to make the last two words of the paragraph
Click here to view more cat photos.

into a clickable link

You do that by nesting the words cat photos within an anchor tag as you learned in step 10 and 11

please try again

turn two words into link by anchor tag

it’s saying The link’s text should be cat photos . You have either omitted the text or have a typo.

Please make sure the words in the anchor are cat photos.
Make sure your anchor tag is well formed.
Show the code if you are stuck in your next response here

Remove dot(.) in the anchor tag and take care of space before and after.

look i did this but it’s saying that it’s wrong

<p href="Click here to view more cat photos" link to cat pictures

Okay then. I suggest that you click on the reset button which looks like an arrow turning first because that will return the code back to its initial state.

After that, I want you to read this post

i don’t think i can do this sir 12 is just too hard form me. i don’t understand the whole quistion and everything.

Okay. Please tell me what you didn’t understand so far?

Did you for eg understand step 10 and 11?

Can you go back and do them one more time to review how anchors are made?

i understood 10 and 11 they were easy but his 1 is just too hard

What is the hard part? Can you point out what it is you need to understand?

For eg. Do you know how to reset the code? If yes pls reset.
The. Look at the preview pane.
Do you see the plain text?
Click here to view more photos.

They want you to make the last two words into a link.

Please tell me which part of this is the one you don’t understand

look i did this

Click here to view more cat photos.
link to cat pictures
but it’s saying the link’s text should be cat photos . You have either omitted the text or have a typo. so i don’t understand what i’m doing wrong

Hello!
Of course you can do it, take a step back and relax . Then, start over!

You have an error on the part:
<p>Click here to view more cat photos.</a> You have not closed the paragraph correctly – no worries, rookie mistakes we all do.

Plus, check this part too, it has an error:

 <a> href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"<(a)>link to cat pictures</a>

Why have you added the <a> element in the middle?

i don’t know i tried evrything but how do i close a paragraph can you please tell me

  1. Instead of

<p>Click here to view more cat photos.</a>, write this <p>Click here to view more cat photos.</p> . See that I used <p> </p>

  1. Instead of <a> href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"<(a)>link to cat pictures</a> try this <a href="https://freecatphotoapp.com">link to cat pictures</a> See that I removed the <(a)> and kept only the > to define the text?

  2. Last but not least, to add the link in the paragraph text, try this: mod edit: solution redacted See that the link starts right before the anchor text (cat photos in this case)

thank you verry much ma’am

It is great that you solved the challenge, but instead of posting your full working solution, it is best to stay focused on answering the original poster’s question(s) and help guide them with hints and suggestions to solve their own issues with the challenge.

We are trying to cut back on the number of spoiler solutions found on the forum and instead focus on helping other campers with their questions and definitely not posting full working solutions.
