Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

Link to the challenge:

Take a look at this anchor element you wrote. What’s different here

it doesn’t work how do you make the “link to cat” blue?

i’ve been facing the same issue it’s saying you have either omitted the text or have typo

Did you compare the two. Compare one letter at a time. How are they different?

For example, look at just the opening anchor tag.

New:

Old:

Here it looks like you have a < and a > for your old opening anchor tag but not your new one. What else is different?

Do I put quotation marks or don’t I? I don’t know where I made the mistake it keeps saying you have omitted the href wrong please show me where I have done it wrong

DId you find out the answer?

You do need question marks. You should also use both < and > on every tag.

If you share your latest code, we can say more

this is my latest code,

<a href=https://freecatphotoapp.com> <a to cat pictures</a>

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

      <a href=https://freecatphotoapp.com> <a to cat pictures</a>

This isn’t the text you’re supposed to have in the middle.

Your new anchor element should look like this old one, but with the text cat photos instead of link to cat pictures.

<a href=https://freecatphotoapp.com  cat photos</a>
 <a href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"> cat photos </a>

I did what you said and replaced the “link to cat photos” with “cat photos” like you said can you please help me

What’s the rest of the code?

 <img src="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">
    </main>
  </body>
</html>

That is what is below it but I don’t think it matters

 <a href"https://freecatphotoapp.com">

This is the code I am working on here is what the error says you either committed the href value wrong or made a typo

The link’s href value should be https://freecatphotoapp.com . You have either omitted the href value or have a typo. this is what it says please help me

You shouldn’t delete anything. I would reset the code and only add the two anchor tags.

Can you show me the code I need please?
