Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

“After nesting the anchor (a ) element, the only p element content visible in the browser should be See more cat photos in our gallery. Double check the text, spacing, or punctuation of both the p and nested anchor element.”

Every time I try to submit the code it keeps giving me this message, I have already tried everything, fixing punctuation, the spaces, and the texts, but nothing works it just keeps telling me that. Despite following the instructions given it just keeps telling me it’s wrong, can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong here?

Your code so far

      <h2>Cat Photos</h2>
<!-- TODO: Add link to cat photos -->

      <p>See more cat photos in our gallery.<a href= "https://freecatphotoapp.com">Cat photos</p>

Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

Link to the challenge:

Look in the preview panel. What text do you see in the p element?

See more cat photos in our gallery.Cat photos

But how do I make it so only the “see more cat photos in our gallery.” is visible without the “cat photos” the codes given literally make the anchor be visible when inside the p element

Why don’t you try turning the words “cat photos” in the middle of the sentence into a link instead of adding an extra “cat photos” to the end of the sentence and turning that into a link.

YES, I finally got it. Thank you for your help!

I have a favor to ask. A lot of people have trouble with step 12. It is obvious that the instructions are not as clear as they should be. In order to help us understand what the issue is, I was hoping you could explain why you thought you needed to add an extra “cat photos” to the end of the sentence.

Please don’t think I am picking on you or making fun of you by asking this question. I am not. A lot of people do this and we are just trying to figure out why.

No problem I understand, I don’t think you’re picking on me at all with that question, it was just a misunderstanding. I can’t speak for everyone but I would think that the reason a lot of people are having trouble with step 12 is because it comes right after step 11 which tells you to put the anchor between the “p” element but it makes you do it at the end of the sentence. So naturally with step 12 it gives this general instruction to just turn “cat photos” into a link by adding the anchor tags around those words, basing off what was done in the previous step you get the idea of adding the words at the end of the sentence to turn it into a link rather than just using the “cat photos” in the middle of the sentence, that’s why when you told me to use the words in the middle I understood right away and was able to successfully code it. Hope this helps, I tried to be as clear as possible with the explanation.

Have a good day!
