can you show me the correct way to type the code

First of all, don’t delete the “link to cat pictures” link you created earlier below the p element. I would reset the step to get the original HTML back. When you do that then you will have two examples of how to turn a group of words into a link. As mentioned, you have already turned the words “link to cat pictures” into a link. You did that by wrapping them in an anchor element. In other words, you placed an opening a tag before those words and a closing a tag after those words. That’s how you would also turn the words “cat photos” in the middle of the p element into a link.

And then you have the example in the instructions that turn the word “freeCodeCamp” into a link. It’s doing the same thing as I described above with the words “link to cat pictures”.

If there is something you don’t understand about those two examples please let us know.

This appears to be a duplicate post!

i understand but when i do it i still get it wrong what is the correct way to type the solution

You’ll need to paste your most recent HTML attempt in here so we can see what you did. Please use the following method to paste your code in here.

To display your code in here you need to wrap it in triple back ticks. On a line by itself type three back ticks. Then on the first line below the three back ticks paste in your code. Then below your code on a new line type three more back ticks. The back tick on my keyboard is in the upper left just above the Tab key and below the Esc key. You may also be able to use Ctrl+e to automatically give you the triple back ticks while you are typing in the this editor and the cursor is on a line by itself. Alternatively, with the cursor on a line by itself, you can use the </> button above the editor to add the triple back ticks.
