Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 12

Hello! I am a humble beginner now. However, I can try to help you (I solved this step earlier this week).
If I am not wrong you mean the paragraph element p (line number 7). Is that right? If this is correct I would recommend to read the instruction for the 12th step together again and deconstruct it into pieces in order to understand better what needs to be done. It helped me to understand the solution this way. Perhaps it will be helpful to you too.
We have the following instruction written there:
" You can turn any text into a link, such as the text inside of a p element.
In the text of your p element, turn the words cat photos into a link by adding opening and closing anchor (a ) tags around these words. Then set the href attribute to https://freecatphotoapp.com"
What does this all mean according to me:

  1. We have a

element with a text in it. It is the following paragraph element :

See more cat photos in our gallery.

  2. Every word or the whole sentence / whole text of this paragraph can be transformed into a link. In our case “cat photos”.
  3. The instruction asks us that a) in the text of the p element above b) we must turn the words cat photos into a link c) by adding opening and closing anchor (a ) tags around them and then d) set the href attribute to https://freecatphotoapp.com

I also struggled with solving it. It is normal. In any case, it is normal for me. But after some time I broke the instruction into pieces and solved it.

I would read the instructions in detail (as in learning the grammar of a natural language) once again and also check the example paragraph you have there:

I think freeCodeCamp is great.

Comparing the structure of both

elements (your

element versus the freeCodeCamp example) will also help. So this is my humble hint for you. And btw, you are on the right way. You already know what tools need to be used to solve it (adding the opening and closing anchor (`a` ) tags, href). And that's great. It must be done accordingly now. P.S. Sorry if the reply is too big.

Hey there, the question is asking to surround the anchor tag with the word “cat photos”< a ></ a >. Anchor tags always have href attribute next to the opening anchor like this < a href>

This link website will show you how to nest the anchor tag(HTML a tag). I hope this helps! If there are any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
