target is not a type of tag. The target is an attribute, like href, src, or alt. You should add the target attribute set equal to the value "_blank" the same way you added those other attributes.

Where did I get this wrong?

The (a ) element does not have a target attribute. Please help.

You did not add the target attribute to any tag. It is floating around outside of tags, so it is not doing anything.
