adding an attribute to any html element is done the same way no matter which element it is (anchor or otherwise) But since you asked about anchor, here’s a sample:

<a href="this is a link">this are linked words</a>

Do you see the href attribute? Any time someone says “add an attribute” remember how href works.
It is the name of the attribute then an equals sign then the value we want in double quotes
