Describe your issue in detail here.
Hi I am on step 14 of the Cat PhotoApp tutorial. It is asking me to " Add a target attribute with the value _blank to the anchor (a ) element’s opening tag, so that the link opens in a new tab." but I am not sure what result is it wanting, how to format the “target_blank” or where to put “target_blank”

Your code so far

<html>
  <body>
    <main>
      <h1>CatPhotoApp</h1>
      <h2>Cat Photos</h2>
      <!-- TODO: Add link to cat photos -->

<!-- User Editable Region -->

      <p>See more <a href="https://freecatphotoapp.com">cat photos</a> in our gallery.</p>

Figured out how to format.
target= “_blank”
still not sure of the purpose of this function

A quick google search of _blank in html gives the answer. Google search, medium, mdn docs, and stackoverflow to name a few are going to help you a lot. Also, plenty of programmers learn that way.

Good luck on your code journey.

hello and welcome to fcc forum :slight_smile:

lets refer to instructions

… to the anchor (a ) element’s opening tag

hint, “href” is also an attribute, something similar should happen for this step as well :slight_smile:

happy learning :slight_smile:

You can use it like this
" < a href=“link” target=“_blank” > Link "

please avoid using double quotes (").
