How can i turn an image into a link by surrounding it with necessary elements:**
Describe your issue in detail here.

Your code so far

<html>
  <body>
    <main>
      <h1>CatPhotoApp</h1>
      <h2>Cat Photos</h2>
      <!-- TODO: Add link to cat photos -->
      <p>Click here to view more <a target="_blank" href="https://freecatphotoapp.com">cat photos</a>.</p>
      <a href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"</a>

Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 15

Link to the challenge:

Click Restart Step because it looks like you have deleted the img element.

Then write your opening anchor tag to the left of the image and the closing anchor tag to the right of it.
This will turn the img into a link.
(Do not delete any code, just add code)

dear u have to nest your img element into anchor tag.

<a <img src="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back."></a> this is what i tried

I’ve edited your code for readability. When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').

This is not a valid opening anchor tag. You can review anchor tags on step 10

* List <img <a href= src="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back."></a>item
my tools are not showing

This also is not an anchor tag.

Do not change, modify, or destroy the img element at all.

This is an opening anchor tag.

<img src="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" <a target="_blank" href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"> alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">

am not still getting it

<img src <a target="_blank" href="https://freecatphotoapp.com"><a target="_blank href="https://cdn.freecodecamp.org/curriculum/cat-photo-app/relaxing-cat.jpg" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back.">.

i tried this also but yet not correct

please follow the instructions I posted earlier here

Here you changed the img element

Here you changed the img element

I really, actually meant it when I said that you must not change the img element in any way.

Surround the img element with the anchor tags. Make sure that the href is an attribute of he anchor tag only.
