Challenge: Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 15

Link to the challenge:

It doesn’t look like you are surrounding your image with your link.

not sure what you mean by that. i added after but then it says it should be only one and to remove extras.

The instructions want you to surround your image with the necessary tags to turn it into a link.

As an example, here is a p element surrounded by a div element:

<div><p>Hello World~!</p></div>

Turning the img into a link probably needs to look a lot like turning the words ‘cat photos’ into a link.

sorry still not sure am i hopefully theres another way to explain? i added the element in the correct spot right?

No, you didn’t put the anchor element in the right spot.

What did you do to put anchor tags around the words cat photos? Where did the opening anchor tag go compared to the word cat?

The opening tag <a href=...> goes before the thing you want to be a link, right?

i change the opening tag and added it before the img but still not correct.

What is your updated code?

Copy your code out of the editor. Create a new post and click the </> button in the post toolbar, then paste in the code between the backticks.

Turning something into a link might be a bit of a misnomer.

A link can have content, it is usually text but it can be something else, for example, an image. The link content is whatever is between the starting and closing tags <a>the content</a>.

For this challenge, the content should be the image in the starting code.
