Learn HTML by Building a Cat Photo App - Step 56

Tell us what’s happening:

I’m still missing my checkbox element even though it’s there…I’ve been scouring the internet for hours for the answer to this to no avail. Can you please help me and/or lead me in the right direction? I really hope it isn’t something minor like a spacing or capitalization issue…

TIA

Nest only the word Loving in a label element. You have included the input as well in the label element. You also need to add a for attribute to the opening tag of the label element.

I can’t see that you were asked to add these attributes to the input so this could also cause it to fail.
name=“loving-loving” value=“loving”

Hi there,

In the previous step, you’ve learned how to link label with input by nesting input inside label, right?

Now, there is another way to link label with input.

First of all, take the input element outside of label and put it before label. Only left the text Loving inside label

Then set an id attribute for the input

Then set a for attribute for label with the same value as the id attribute of the input

The example code in the instruction link the input with the label:

<input id="breakfast" type="radio" name="meal" value="breakfast">
<label for="breakfast">Breakfast</label>
