Can somebody please help me identify what the problem is with the code because i keep getting an errror that the “” tag is not at the top of the code, i dont know if the problem might be something else, can you assist??

The hint is a little misleading. You did add the doctype correctly but you removed the html tag that was there originally.

Add an html opening tag beneath your !dochtml

as in "<!DOCTYPE>

You might want to restart the step to get the original HTML back. If you do then you will see the opening html tag at the top. Don’t delete that. Just add the doctype above it.
