Learn HTML Forms by Building a Registration Form - Step 60

It looks like I did not understandand the following instruction;

You should use the existing margin property to include 1em on the top and bottom.

Here is my iterpretation

border-color: white; min-width: 300px; margin: 10px1em 0 0 1em;

This is my whole code;

input[type=“submit”] {
display: block;
width: 60%;
height: 2em;
font-size: 1.1rem;
background-color: #3b3b4f;
border-color: white; min-width: 300px; margin: 10px1em 0 0 1em;

Hi there!

Can you insert your full code and link to project here for clarity? You can insert your code with three backticks (`) on a separate line before and after your code. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not sure what this step is asking, but when you add a margin you can only have 4 different numbers, max. You have 5.

Hello Morgan,
thanks for the gesture,

I will start with the html code

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>Registration Form</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css" />
  </head>
  <body>
    <h1>Registration Form</h1>
    <p>Please fill out this form with the required information</p>
    <form method="post" action='https://register-demo.freecodecamp.org'>
      <fieldset>
        <label for="first-name">Enter Your First Name: <input id="first-name" name="first-name" type="text" required /></label>
        <label for="last-name">Enter Your Last Name: <input id="last-name" name="last-name" type="text" required /></label>
        <label for="email">Enter Your Email: <input id="email" name="email" type="email" required /></label>
        <label for="new-password">Create a New Password: <input id="new-password" name="new-password" type="password" pattern="[a-z0-5]{8,}" required /></label>
      </fieldset>
      <fieldset>
        <label for="personal-account"><input id="personal-account" type="radio" name="account-type" class="inline" /> Personal Account</label>
        <label for="business-account"><input id="business-account" type="radio" name="account-type" class="inline" /> Business Account</label>
        <label for="terms-and-conditions">
          <input id="terms-and-conditions" type="checkbox" required name="terms-and-conditions" class="inline" /> I accept the <a href="https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/terms-of-service/">terms and conditions</a>
        </label>
      </fieldset>
      <fieldset>
        <label for="profile-picture">Upload a profile picture: <input id="profile-picture" type="file" name="file" /></label>
        <label for="age">Input your age (years): <input id="age" type="number" name="age" min="13" max="120" /></label>
        <label for="referrer">How did you hear about us?
          <select id="referrer" name="referrer">
            <option value="">(select one)</option>
            <option value="1">freeCodeCamp News</option>
            <option value="2">freeCodeCamp YouTube Channel</option>
            <option value="3">freeCodeCamp Forum</option>
            <option value="4">Other</option>
          </select>
        </label>
        <label for="bio">Provide a bio:
          <textarea id="bio" name="bio" rows="3" cols="30" placeholder="I like coding on the beach..."></textarea>
        </label>
      </fieldset>
      <input type="submit" value="Submit" />
    </form>
  </body>
</html>

then here is the css code

body {
  width: 100%;
  height: 100vh;
  margin: 0;
  background-color: #1b1b32;
  color: #f5f6f7;
  font-family: Tahoma;
  font-size: 16px;
}

h1, p {
  margin: 1em auto;
  text-align: center;
}

form {
  width: 60vw;
  max-width: 500px;
  min-width: 300px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

fieldset {
  border: none;
  padding: 2rem 0;
  border-bottom: 3px solid #3b3b4f;
}

fieldset:last-of-type {
  border-bottom: none;
}

label {
  display: block;
  margin: 0.5rem 0;
}

input,
textarea,
select {
  margin: 10px 0 0 0;
  width: 100%;
  min-height: 2em;
}

input, textarea {
  background-color: #0a0a23;
  border: 1px solid #0a0a23;
  color: #ffffff;
}

.inline {
  width: unset;
  margin: 0 0.5em 0 0;
  vertical-align: middle;
}

input[type="submit"] {
  display: block;
  width: 60%;
  height: 2em;
  font-size: 1.1rem;
  background-color: #3b3b4f;
  border-color: white; min-width: 300px;  margin: 1em 0 0 1em;
}

the last line of the css code there is what i am not getting it right, specifically the margin part.

the instruction was;

Step 60

Lastly, for the submit button, you want to separate it from the fieldset above, and adjust its width to never be below 300px.

Change the margin property to include 1em on the top and bottom, while leaving the right and left margins set to auto. Then set the width as described above.

may thoutght was to give this;

border-color: white; min-width: 300px;  margin: 1em 0 0 1em;

Kindly check though the full code and let me know what i should do right.
Thaks a lot.

Thanks Partum for reaching out.
Let be more clear in my question,

Great! I see what you’re saying. First, step 60 is asking for you to set your right and left margin to “auto” so take a look at your value again. Second, here is the value for margins:
4 values: top, right, bottom, left
3 values: top, right AND left, bottom
2 values: top AND bottom, left AND right
1 value: all margins
Since your top and bottom margins and left and right margins are the same, you don’t need 4 values. Hope this helps! :slight_smile:
