Challenge: Learn HTML Forms by Building a Registration Form - Step 63

Link to the challenge:

Links use the a tag, so you style a link in CSS by targeting the a element. You’ve changed the selector to terms and conditions which doesn’t make sense since those aren’t valid HTML elements.

I believe the selector for a would look something like this
a:terms-and-consitions{
color: #dfdfe2;
}

The a part is correct but there is no such thing as the :terms-and-conditions pseudo class. I think you might be getting too caught up on the terms and conditions part of the link. There is only one link on the page. So the instructions could have said:

“Change the text color of the link on the page to #dfdfe2”.

You only need to target the link (i.e. a tag). You don’t need to care about the text in the link because it is the only link on the page.

Thanks, I think I am going in a better direction. I tried a:action, a:link, a:link before the {} but none seem to work I looked up other pseudo classes

You don’t need any pseudo-classes. You don’t need anything after the a. That’s what I was trying to hint at. There is only one link on the page. So you can just target the a tag by itself and it will work. That’s what the tests want you to do.

This is embarrassing lol… but we got there THANKS!!

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I can definitely see how the instructions sort of implied you needed to do something special to target the link. I mean, if it’s the only link on the page then why do they need to call it out by name?
