Learn Intermediate CSS by Building a Cat Painting - Step 6... ExpressVPN extension problem

tl;dr:
Disable the ExpressVPN extension. I’m using Firefox. I don’t know if the Chrome version also causes a problem.

I was working on “Learn Intermediate CSS by Building a Cat Painting - Step 6” and my code was correct, but still failing.

A problem with this lesson has been reported before, but the generic response about extensions isn’t really helpful if you have a lot of extensions.

I have a lot of extensions, including uBlock Origin & Dark Reader, but I’ve never had any problems before and I never disabled any of them until now.

I didn’t enjoy going through my 30+ extensions and disabling them one at a time then reloading the lesson page after each one to see if my code worked. It finally worked after I disabled ExpressVPN and I confirmed it by re-enabling all the others and it still worked. I’m hoping that someone will see my post and avoid this process in the future.

For the record, I’ve already completed the Front End Development Libraries certification as well as the Legacy Front End and Legacy JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures certifications. So, I covered a significant amount of material without any problems.

Hello @VAggrippino !

Sorry to hear about your difficulty with this step.

One way around this may be to use a different browser such as Edge, Chrome, Brave, or any other browser may work. It may be worth a try.

Wishing you good progress on your coding journey. :slightly_smiling_face:
