Your code so far

// User Editable Region

for (let i = 0; i < count; i = i + 1) {

you need to recall the meaning of “declare a variable” and the meaning of “assign a value to the variable”.
for example this code below declares a result variable and assigns a blank string to it

So going back to the step instructions, what variable did they ask you to declare?
What did they ask you to assign to it?

Edit: I see you already declared a const call variable, so now, just assign the value of this new variable to the function call already in your code. Do NOT modify the padRow() call, just assign its value to the call variable.

I tried every way but nothing worked

here’s another example.

I want to create a variable called myName and assign to it the result of a function called randomFunction() so I will do it like this

const myName = randomFunction();

Do you see how the assignment is done now?

Hi, I know I did not create this post but I also had problems with this step but this cleared things up a lot. Thanks!

  • You need to modify the padRow function to return a result.

  • You should call the padRow function and assign its return value to a new variable, likely named call.

  • You’re being asked to ensure you use the returned value from the padRow function.

mod edit: code removed

It is great that you solved the challenge, but instead of posting your full working solution, it is best to stay focused on answering the original poster’s question(s) and help guide them with hints and suggestions to solve their own issues with the challenge.

We are trying to cut back on the number of spoiler solutions found on the forum and instead focus on helping other campers with their questions and definitely not posting full working solutions.
