### Tell us what’s happening:

I don’t get where the sum variable should be assigned and don’t really understand what I’m doing wrong. Can someone help me out here please?

Thanks in advance.

### Your code so far

```
const character = "#";
const count = 8;
const rows = [];
function padRow(name) {
return name;
}
// User Editable Region
function addTwoNumbers(5, 10) {
return sum;
}
addTwoNumbers(5, 10);
// User Editable Region
const call = padRow("CamperChan");
console.log(call);
for (let i = 0; i < count; i = i + 1) {
rows.push(character.repeat(i + 1))
}
let result = ""
for (const row of rows) {
result = result + "\n" + row;
}
console.log(result);
```

The concept here is about parameters, arguments and some mathematical operations.

So the first step is to form the function. In this case, let’s create a function that multiplies two arguments.

```
function multiplyTwo (parameter 1, parameter 2){
return parameter 1 * parameter 2;
}
```

Remember that parameters are like variables, they hold values, and where are the values? We will pass the values to our parameters when we call our function, in this case, the values are called arguments, actual values that are passed to parameters.

The next step will be calling our function so that we pass arguments to it. This is how we do it.

```
multiplyTwo(12, 6)
```

Now parameters 1 will take the arguments 12 and parameter 2 the other arguments. The output will be `72`

.

You can also decide to assign the function call to a variable.

```
const multiplicationTwo = multiplyTwo(12, 6);
```

It took some time for me to get there but I eventually got there thanks to your help!

It’s my joy that you got it. Keep doing the great work.
