Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 13

Okay, I’m really stuck. I am on step 13. It’s asking me to take the value that was output when I run the code alphabet.find(text[0]) (from the previous step. There never was an output value for this, but I’ll assume it wants the letter ‘a’. Can someone confirm that this is what it wants?)

It wants me to assign that value to a variable called “index” and then print that value.

So here is the code that was automatically brought over from the previous question:
text=‘Hello World’

Here is what I try for a solution:

Can someone please explain what is wrong? It tells me to create a variable called index and assign it the value generated from alphabet.find(text[0]) which I never got, by I’m guessing is supposed to be the letter “a” since that’s the first position (or 0) of the abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Please help.

/* User Editable Region */

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
index = "a"

@deannaoliveri You’re super close! You’ve got the print(index) part right.

But instead of directly assigning “a” to index, try assigning alphabet.find(text[0]) to index, then printing it.

Hope this helps!

I tried this but it didn’t work too
