what is wrong with my code for step 18

You have to declare ‘‘Shifted’’ variable and assign it the value of alphabet[index]

Do you have a more specific question?

Like “How do I declare a variable?”

Something like that? Something that will help you understand what’s wrong and what you need to do?

Declare a new variable named shifted

Focus on this step of the instructions first.
