Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 19

Hi there, welcome to the community!

You’re on the right track with the instructions:

Declare a new variable named shifted. Use bracket notation to access the value of alphabet at index index and assign it to your new variable.

However, there’s a small issue: you’ve wrapped alphabet[index] in quotation marks, which turns it into a string literal instead of actually accessing the character. Just remove the quotes so it evaluates properly.

You’re close, keep going!
