Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 33

Tell us what’s happening:

I was instructed to declare a new variable called “encrypted_text” with an empty variable ’ '. I thought I did it correctly but the system does not let me pass. Is there anything I am missing or is there something wrong with my code below? Thank you!

Your code so far

text = ‘Hello World’
shift = 3
alphabet = ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’

encrypted_text= ’ ’
print(encrypted_text)
for char in text.lower():
index = alphabet.find(char)
new_index = index + shift
new_char = alphabet[new_index]
print(‘char:’, char, ‘new char:’, new_char)

/* User Editable Region */

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'

encrypted_text= ' '
for char in text.lower():
    index = alphabet.find(char)
    new_index = index + shift
    new_char = alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'new char:', new_char)

/* User Editable Region */
