i have been trying to solve this code and i do believe it’s supposed to be working but it is not and i am not sure what is the issue with my code. please help!

Instead of assigning alphabet[new_index] to encrypted_text, assign the current value of encrypted_text plus alphabet[new_index] to this variable.

You are just assigning alphabet[new_index] so far:

It doesn’t want to to just assign alphabet[new_index] but to add the current value of encrypted_text and alphabet[new_index] together, and assign that to encrypted_text
