I think there is a mistake in the validator because it doesn’t issue any error but it is not letting me pass

Your code so far

text = ‘Hello World’
shift = 3
alphabet = ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’
encrypted_text = ‘’

for char in text.lower():
if(char == " "):
print(“space!”)
index = alphabet.find(char)
new_index = index + shift
encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
print(‘char:’, char, ‘encrypted text:’, encrypted_text)

Hello Coding,

In python, unlike other languages, you don’t need brackets around your if statement. (I also keep doing this out of habbit :smiling_face_with_tear:)

I have same issue. It just says

// running tests

in console and nothing happens.

Using your code, minus the brackets, passed for me.
Just in case, can you post what your code looks like now?
