I did not understand how to print on assignment.

Your code so far

/* User Editable Region */

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
encrypted_text = ''

for char in text.lower():
    if char == ' ':
        print(True)
    else:
        print(False)

    index = alphabet.find(char)
    new_index = index + shift
    encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'encrypted text:', encrypted_text)

/* User Editable Region */

Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 38

Hi Atabek

Please note you are not asked to print True, carefully read the instructions again.

The else statement is not required.

Happy coding

if char == ’ ':
print (correct)
is that what you mean?

Hello!

Looks good already, two hints:

  • You need a space between the quotation marks, without you are checking if char is an empty string.

  • Look at the task again what it wants you to print out, you can take this literally. Don’t forget the input is a string!
